The media aren’t giving Americans the full picture of what’s going on, says Sharyl Attkisson, a former CBS News investigative reporter. The mainstream media tend “to censor or block stories that don’t fall in line with the message they want sent to the viewers,” Attkisson explains.

To fill this void, The Heritage Foundation launched The Daily Signal today as our multimedia news site.

In addition to news coverage that is fair, accurate, and trustworthy, The Daily Signal showcases and promotes the conservative commentary and policy analysis of The Heritage Foundation.  The Daily Signal establishes direct access to a broad audience, allowing our message to reach everyday Americans unfiltered.

The media landscape has dramatically changed. Newspapers and television stations are losing audiences, while digital, social, and mobile technologies have fundamentally changed the way Americans get their news.  These changes undeniably benefit organizations and individuals with high-quality content that matters.  It is hard to imagine an organization better positioned to exploit these changes than The Heritage Foundation.

We look forward to working with you to make The Daily Signal a success and to achieve our shared vision of an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.

In Daily Signal one negative I have seen is comments section is with third party plug-in which citizens might not use because of privacy concerns. Please bring back comments section as before in blog.heritage.org to enable lively discussion in an environment filled with Liberty.

glad to see someone tell it like it is. I hope this communication process will consider articles or invite its members to discuss troublesome issues. this is great.

Great job. I especially appreciate finding the top stories and issues of the day right up front. The print font is easy to read and navigation is swift.

Common Core? The standardization of people, even the sound of it is not American. There are those who would destroy us from within. They want a standardized world filled with mediocre standardized people who have no desire, no drive, no concept of loss or victory. Dead inside. When I went to school in the fifties and sixties both educators and students had more sense than this. Get the federal government out of our schools. It is not the federal government’s job to micromanage American education of our children. Discontinue Common Core now, before it can do any more damage.
