The Senate announced a deal yesterday to protect the status quo in Washington. As pundits debate the political winners or losers of this deal, one thing is clear: The American people are once again on the losing end.
Once again the Washington Establishment won out, ensuring Obamacare will continue its destructive path by raising healthcare insurance rates and adding to the national debt. As Heritage Foundation expert Romina Boccia wrote yesterday, the deal “locks in Obamacare’s implementation with no relief in sight for those Americans who are seeing their premiums increase, their working hours cut, and their job opportunities diminished.”
While Congress has failed to listen to the people, Heritage has not. Heritage’s Amy Payne writes:
[W]e’re listening—keep sending us your stories about how Obamacare is impacting your family. And our experts will keep the vital information coming on everything from Congress’s unfair, illegal deals for themselves to how much everyone else is paying in the insurance exchanges. And we’ll be here when government funding runs out again in January—and we hit the debt ceiling again in February. Because Congress doesn’t seem to learn.
How do you feel about the “deal”?
